چکیده

Changes in the organic matrix of composite resins have been proposed to improve their surface properties. However, polishing systems may perform differently different materials. This study compared effect on roughness four containing resin monomers: Admira Fusion (nanohybrid pure ormocer), Aura Bulkfill Bis-GMA, UDMA), Charisma Diamond TCD-DI-HEA) and Vittra APS (nanofilled UDMA). Cylinders (N = 120, n 10) were prepared from each material top specimen was grounded using a diamond finishing bur. Baseline measurements (Ra) recorded contact profilometer specimens divided into three subgroups according system: one-step, two-step, three-step. Ra also after polishing. Data analyzed three-way ANOVA Tukey’s test (p < 0.05). The baseline all composites significantly reduced 0.001). two-step system provided smoothest for (0.0770 ± 0.0171) (0.1091 0.0090), whereas no differences found tested. smoothness seems be more dependent than step dependent, but tested clinically acceptable results.

Effects of polishing on surface roughness, gloss, and color of resin composites.

This study evaluated the effects of polishing on surface roughness, gloss, and color of regular, opaque, and enamel shades for each of three resin composites. Two-mm-thick resin disks made with Estelite Σ Quick, Clearfil Majesty, and Beautifil II were final polished with 180-, 1000-, and 3000-grit silicon carbide paper. Surface roughness, gloss, and color were measured one week after curing. Es...

The effect of one-step and multi-step polishing systems on the surface roughness and microhardness of novel resin composites

OBJECTIVES The objective of this in vitro study was to evaluate the surface roughness and micro-hardness of three novel resin composites containing nanoparticles after polishing with one-step and conventional multi-step polishing systems. METHODS A total of 126 specimens (10 X 2 mm) were prepared in a metal mold using three nano-composites (Filtek Supreme XT, Ceram-X, and Grandio), 21 specime...
